Just a quick reminder that The Great Steampunk Debate (www.greatsteampunkdebate.com) opens the floor tomorrow. If you go the forum, you'll find that we have all the questions up so you can start to work out what you want to say to whom. The election is going to be over next week--the warm-up over, time to start the main event!
And, no question is going to be out of bounds. In fact, the debate was concieved with the idea of openly talking about all those highly flammable questions you normally need to be very, very drunk to broach--gender, race, politics, history, national identity, self identity... how does all this fit into Steampunk? Does it? Should it? And, what's better--Batternberg, or scones? And should 'scone' rhyme with 'gone' or 'bone'?
There's a place where you can just shoot the breeze and being light-hearted is encouraged in the right places. It's not all going to be heavy, three-in-the-morning stuff.
So, sign up and make sure that your voice is heard! As my mother used to say, if you don't talk, you can't complain when no one listens.
(Okay, my mother never really said that. But it's the sort of thing she could have said...)
